Sunday Night at the Beach 2017: Raw and Cold

Sunday Night at the Beach has officially started!  Everyone is delighted!  The Little Cousins were visiting for the weekend and they really wanted to go to the sandy beach.  There were so many of us we needed to take two vans to transport everyone there, so we sent the first load down right after supper with all the little people.  I picked up YaYa from babysitting, and we loaded up Grandma Kathy and Mr. SP and went to pick up The Banana and one of our neighbors halfway down the street from choir practice.  By the time we finally got to the end of Park Point, the little cousins were just getting into the car to come back home.  They had gotten wet and cold.

Let me tell you, there was a Northeast Wind, and it was COLD.  Raw cold.  So even though it was nearly 50 degrees out, it really felt like 30 some degrees out.

This, of course did not stop my people from running right into the water for a swim.  Not at all.

Mr. SP dug a hole so big he could fit inside.

There was a lot of running about in the wide open spaces.  Who doesn’t love running through the sand?

In and out, in and out . . . The Banana was the only one who managed to completely submerge, I believe.  Mr. TOF was wet up to his knees and miserable after about a half hour.  But everyone else was filled with joy, and they were absolutely hilarious on the drive back to the house.  They had me laughing so hard I was teary.

Grandma Kathy doesn’t show up in any of the pictures, but she was there, dressed in a very warm fuzzy fleece hoodie.
