Concerning Changes

This boy dislikes the writing process. Most specifically, he detests revising, which I’m always encouraging. I get it. It’s hard for anyone, especially a kid, to want to make changes that you maybe don’t think are that necessary, and Mr. TOF doesn’t like change of any kind whatsoever in the first place.

The other day he came into the room where I was practicing and showed me a fantasy book he’s been reading about two girls who are trying to save fairy tale characters from an editor holding them captive.

“See Mom, I’ve been telling you all along: Revising is evil! In this story the editor is a GOBLIN.”
