Best Slide Ever

The Banana has had plans to remove one of the sets of bunk beds in her room for months. All summer long no progress was made in this department because there never seemed to be a chunk of time when both she and Dr. Peds were not scheduled for something. Then, literally the day before school started, they decided to go for it. The bunk beds were disassembled and the pieces moved to the mudroom. While they were at it, they decided to take out the carpet as well, and paint the baseboards, and it ended up being a project that literally took all day. I’m actually surprised they squeezed it into one day. The Banana’s room seems huge without those extra two beds, and she is loving her space.

The most entertaining thing about the whole ordeal is that The Banana decided to get rid of her mattress that was lumpy and in terrible shape and use one of the other mattresses. Dr. Peds asked if I wanted to sail down the stairs on the mattress, and I thought, Why not? What an opportunity! So I got up from my desk in my office where I was working and hopped on the mattress, flying down the stairs. It was exhilarating! Of course everyone had to try it when they saw how much fun it was! Mr. TOF and Peanut Maximus spent hours sliding down the stairs on the mattress, and let me tell you, Peanut Maximus was having the time of his life. He was a head-first kind of slider for sure. At one point YaYa came to visit, and the three of them took multiple trips down the stairs. It was a hoot!

Mr. TOF wanted to keep the mattress just for sliding purposes, but alas, there was no place to store a crummy mattress in the living room or foyer, so eventually it headed to the dump.
