Baby Green

Babyleaves

Roseleaf

Spring seems slow to come this year.  Make that very, very slow.  We've had a long string of cloudy, breezy days.  The grass is barely starting to turn green in little patches.  You have to search carefully to find any vegetation that is thinking of leafing out right now, but I did manage to find a couple of baby leaves in my yard.  The day lillies have come up though, in massive numbers as usual.

In other random news, I found an ice cream maker at a thrift store a couple of weeks ago, and after lunch today Mr. SP, The Banana and I swirled up some orange sherbert using only frozen orange concentrate and milk.  They were so excited to stand on the little red chair next to the kitchen counter and watch the frozen treat spin around and thicken up.

Mr. SP and The Banana spent most of the morning sword fighting and  creating an obstacle course out of 10 hula hoops that I usually use at music class.

We are planning on attending Sarah's school carnival tonight.  Everyone is very excited.  I am a little sad that going to the carnival means that I will actually have to change out of my pajamas today, but I'm sure that the experience will be exhilarating.  And exhausting, which will make me happy to come home and put on a set of new, clean pajamas.
