The Great Indoor Beach

It was an early release day from school.  The kidlets spent their spare hours this afternoon pretending they were at a beach.  This involved wearing appropriate beach attire, pretending to jump into the waves, thrashing about like they were swimming, and sunbathing in the late afternoon sun that crept through the picture window.  It also involved a lot of maniacal running throughout the house and joyous shouting that they were ON THE BEACH!  ON THE BEACH!  I hid my head underneath a quilt.

Oh, the power of positive thinking at the end of February.  Although it was so crazy that my camera and I bundled up and walked around the backyard in the subzero temperatures, (just to escape the frenzy) they had a magnificent afternoon together, with very little arguing, in fact.
