Concerning Winter Surfing

Here is my husband.  He's online shopping for long surfboards.  Again.  He's been rather obsessed about getting a surfboard for the last several months.  I keep trying to hold him off, but it's not working.  I never envisioned contemplating owning a surfboard, especially while living in Minnesota.  

He wants to learn to surf on Lake Superior.  When the wind is right, we do get a nice surf on our rocky and not-as-rocky beaches.  It turns out though, that the best surfing seems to happen in the winter, and usually during a blizzard.  There are people who actually drive to Lake Superior from all over Minnesota and Wisconsin to surf when the wind is just right.  They wear super thick wetsuits and winter hats , and away they go.  I'm really not joking.
