Mr. Sneaky Pants has been waiting MONTHS for preschool to start.  Last April we visited his preschool while they were having an open house, and he has been desperate for fall to arrive ever since.  I was more than apprehensive about whether or not he'd be ready for preschool, but it turns out that he is.  He LOVES it.  The sun AND moon rise and set around his preschool teacher, who is absolutely amazing . . . everything a mom could want a preschool teacher to be, even a picky mom who reads books and books about early childhood education just for fun.

At Mr. Sneaky Pants' preschool, the kids are divided into three groups of about 10 kids, and the groups rotate through three different colored rooms where each teacher has set up special activities.  He always has exciting things to tell me about each room and what he did there.  He's met some fun friends, who like to play house and cook in the play kitchen and let him be the dad.  His teachers let him complete all his artwork using the color orange, his favorite.  They don't MAKE any of the kids do anything, and are so supportive of letting them choose activities for themselves, which works incredibly well.

The only disappointment was that he did not get to ride a school bus to preschool, so we've taken to calling our van "Mama's golden bus."  It has quite a ring to it, doesn't it?

Please note the shark on the backpack in the photographs.  We searched long and hard to find a shark backpack for the scuba diver wanna-be.  Sharks, scuba diving, castles and knights are all the craze around here.
