Mess of the Week: A Major Food Cupboard Raid

Bigmess

While I was taking a shower yesterday, Mr. Sneaky Pants was back to his sneakery. I dressed myself, brushed my teeth and came downstairs to once again discover the food cupboard raided, a path of noodle bags, and various boxes of food leading to the culprit himself. I thought I had managed to find all the chocolate chips and store them elsewhere, but apparently I missed a bag. He found the unsweetened baking chocolate, and gnawed on it enough to figure out it wasn’t very sweet, so he went for a bag of brown sugar to make it a bit more tasty. He discovered the bag of large dried prunes and had a few of those. And he went way to the back of the cupboard and pulled out a cake mix that we’ve had for at least a year, and that I had entirely forgotten about. It was tough to chew through the plastic bag inside the cake mix box, so he thoughtfully used the scissors to cut the bag open. I found him down in the cabin room, cleverly hidden behind the papasan chair next to the futon with a lot of chocolate on his face. Ho hum. Does anyone have an ideas for extra childproof cupboard locks? Clearly he is getting through any childproofing I can find at the store, and I really have no other place to keep my food. Really, I do feed the child, often. And I give him regular snacks, too.
