Tis the Season

We have entered the season of scrapes, scratches and outdoor collisions. Several times daily I find myself digging for the bandaid box. Thank goodness that blood clots! Everyone loves being outside, and everyone loves the swingset, but there are some inevitable crashes. For example, last evening Dr. Peds and I were standing no fewer than three feet away from the swingset while all of the kidlets were wooshing through the air with glee. And then the littlest one decided to disembark, and the oldest one tried to stop her swing in time, but couldn’t and collided with The Banana on the backswing. The Banana landed with a thud and tears. The eldest ran away in tears and had to be called back; she was so upset because we had shouted for her to stop and she couldn’t, which we weren’t angry about, but it was scary for her just the same, and then, of course the middle child bonked his foot on the swing and was wailing because no one was paying any attention to him because we were too busy comforting the others.
