After School Snack

Upon clomping in the door after school yesterday, Sarah settled in at the table with a chocolate chip cookie. Usually I only convince them to have healthy snacks after school, but the cookies were very yummy, so they got to splurge a bit. She was full of stories about their peace walk at school, were they watched a play about Rosa Parks and got to march holding signs about how to make the world a more peaceful place. Sarah is extremely proud of the sign she made, which stated clearly: NO BULLYING. It has an illustration of how to be nice to other people. Since she brought it home for me to examine, she’s used the sign to not only play pretend peace march, but it has also been a pirate flag, a cheerleader pom pom, and a high flying airplane.
