A Beautiful Evening on a Rocky Beach

A few days ago we decided to go for a walk on the lakewalk, but we only got about an eighth of a block along the way before we got distracted by the beautiful shoreline. Ms. Crazy Preschooler and Mr. Sneaky Pants got so busy tossing pebbles in the water and climbing on the big boulders, that I couldn’t suggest that we leave for the purpose of walking, not when the water was burbling gently between the rocks and the cool slow breeze was wisking around. The sun began to set in the clear sky, which is a phenomenon unto itself. We life on the western shore of the lake, obviously. So You’d think sunsets on the lake wouldn’t be that interesting. Sunsets on the silhuetted hills should be the evening marvel. But somehow as the sun sets, the beautiful colors reflect off the enormous spanse of water into the eastern sky too, in the most subtle, gentle fashion. So we stayed on the shore and played. Hannah picked up medium sized rocks of all kinds and transported them around when she wasn’t using them as teething rings. Mr. Sneaky Pants and Ms. Crazy Preschooler bounded about, and I snapped pictures, pictures, and more pictures in the interesting light. We could have stayed out all night until midnight, but The Banana began to get sleepy at sundown, so we scrambled back home.
