Lost and Found

When our friends arrived last Tuesday, it was late into the night, past midnight, I think. Early the next morning, I heard giggles in the hallway. I crept out to see who was up. Mr. Perpetual and his pal were sitting on the steps, and he stated, “Look, I lost my friend and here she is!” They were so excited to see each other, and all morning they played together. After Ms. Crazy Preschooler left for Bible School, Mr. PM and his chum wrapped up in blankets and played “going to sleep.” They read books. They played with toys in Mr. PM’s room with a focus I haven’t seen in toddlers for a long time. They played duets on the piano together, and were very much inseperable. Mr. PM was so purely happy to be playing with someone his own size, and how they played and interacted had changed so much in just the few months since we lived in Wisconsin. At one point I climbed upstairs to check what they were up to. Mr. PM was standing right next to his pal and said, “I just LOVE her! I like to pat her hair, too.” He’s such a feely-touchy kind of guy. He was stroking her hair ever so kindly. Teenage years might prove to be VERY interesting around here.
