  • I’ve always loved bugs, and for a while when I was in the early stages of middle school I thought being an entomologist would be rather interesting.  There are just so MANY different kinds of bugs.  The other day I was teaching a piano lesson to a middle school boy, and he stopped to tell me that he was working on a science project, and was considering doing his project about African cockroaches.  He asked if I thought cockroaches were gross or a good thing to use in a science experiment.  I said, “Go for it!”
  • A cold nearly did me in last weekend, but I think I’m on the mend now.
  • The other day Mr. TOF asked me if I had put soda in my hair because it smelled so good.
  • I’ve been busy preparing for preschool music class, which starts in less than two weeks!  Connecting preschoolers and elderly people at assisted living centers with music is still one of my favorite things to do.  I’m looking forward to all that joy!
  • The piano really does get a workout at my house.  I practice.  My kids practice.  My students come to have their lessons.  The piano is overscheduled.  That’s a good and beautiful thing.
  • My mother-in-law spent the weekend here, and it was wonderful.  It was particularly helpful to have an extra set of adult hands on board when Dr. Peds was away to a conference for part of the time.  Also, I just have an awesome mother-in-law.  I’m super blessed.
  • The last two weeks have been really crazy around here as we settle into the routine of school, homework, church activities, music lessons, and all the preparation that goes along with those things. Everyone has had an adjustment in time management skills, and supporting those changes has been a bit exhausting.  Even though I haven’t been blogging as frequently, I have been taking a lot of pictures.  I’m hoping to share many of them soon as I get caught up.
