One Hundred Days of Kindergarten

Our elementary school celebrated the one hundredth day of school last week on Tuesday.  In Mr. Sneaky Pants’ kindergarten class, there were many wonderful 100 activities.  They counted by tens to string together 100 fruit loops (maybe it’s spelled froot loops?) into a necklace that they could bring home and eat.  Mr. SP ate his while he was waiting for me t o finish making his sandwich for lunch.  (The Banana was hopelessly jealous and he loved it).  The kindergarteners danced for one hundred seconds, ate a special mixture for snack  that consisted of 100 of something that each student brought to school.  Mr. SP counted out 100 raisins to put in the mixture.  They even basked in 100 seconds of silence, even though Mr. SP informed me that “it really wasn’t THAT silent, because there were still people coughing every once in awhile.”

My daughter loved 100th day of school last year in kindergarten! She was very disappointed this year on the 100th day. She said “all that waiting and all we did was a math sheet. I wasted my energy thinking of what things we might do.”
